Question

What is the success rate of stem cell therapy for COPD & Lung Disease?

No validated universal success rate exists for cell therapy in COPD. Review the exact product's randomised comparator, baseline severity, lung function, validated symptoms and exercise measures, exacerbations, hospitalisations, mortality, adverse events and complete follow-up.

What the evidence shows for COPD & Lung Disease

Human studies are heterogeneous and generally investigational. They should be assessed by exact product, dose, route, COPD phenotype and severity, comparator, lung function, exercise capacity, symptoms, exacerbations, hospitalisation and adverse events. The FDA consumer alert states that the promoted regenerative products it addresses have not been approved in the United States for pulmonary diseases including COPD. Do not stop inhaled medicines, oxygen or rehabilitation for an experimental offer.
