Question

What is the recovery time after stem cell therapy for Crohn's & IBD?

Recovery depends on local fistula procedures, systemic administration and disease activity. Continue prescribed IBD treatment unless the responsible gastroenterologist changes it and seek urgent care for severe abdominal pain, fever, bleeding, dehydration or obstruction symptoms.

What the evidence shows for Crohn's & IBD

Alofisel (darvadstrocel) was an allogeneic adipose-derived MSC product formerly authorised in the EU for selected complex perianal fistulas in adults with Crohn's disease. The European Commission withdrew its marketing authorisation on 13 December 2024, and EMA states that the authorisation is no longer valid. See the EMA Alofisel record. This history must not be presented as current approval or transferred to another product, route or IBD indication.
