Question

What is the success rate of stem cell therapy for Multiple Sclerosis?

No single success rate covers AHSCT, MSCs or neural-cell products. Review the exact population, comparator, relapse activity, MRI outcomes, disability measures, treatment-related mortality, adverse events and duration. Stabilisation is not the same as repair.

What the evidence shows for Multiple Sclerosis

AHSCT has been studied for selected people with highly active inflammatory MS, while its risks include those of intensive conditioning and immune suppression. NIH describes AHSCT as an experimental approach being compared with best available biologic therapy in severe relapsing MS. MSC, neural-cell and exosome proposals have different and generally earlier evidence. See the NINDS MS research overview and verify the exact protocol.
