Question

What is the success rate of stem cell therapy for Tendon & Sports Injuries?

A reliable success rate for tendon cell or exosome therapy is not established. Pain, imaging, strength and return to sport are different endpoints and should not be merged. Uncontrolled athlete cohorts cannot separate treatment effect from natural healing and rehabilitation. The registered studies and their own prespecified endpoints are listed in the registry table on this page.

What the evidence shows for Tendon & Sports Injuries

Human tendon studies of cell and exosome approaches vary by tendon, acute or chronic injury, product, comparator, rehabilitation and outcome measure. Case-series return-to-activity rates cannot distinguish treatment effects from natural healing, selection or concurrent physiotherapy. Structural imaging changes do not automatically establish pain relief or safe return to sport. No pooled response rate is published here because the studies are too heterogeneous for a single figure to be meaningful. The registered studies and their own prespecified endpoints are listed in the registry table on this page.
