Is stem cell therapy for Lupus (SLE) worth it?
A cellular approach may merit consideration only in a properly authorised, specialist-reviewed protocol for a defined severe situation. It is not a substitute for established lupus therapy, and an independent rheumatologist should assess risks, alternatives and delay.
How stem cells are studied for Lupus (SLE)
Systemic lupus erythematosus is a heterogeneous autoimmune disease that may affect skin, joints, blood, kidneys, nervous system and other organs. MSCs, haematopoietic transplantation and engineered immune-cell approaches have different aims and risks. They must not be grouped as one stem-cell treatment or described as universally resetting immunity.
