Question

Is stem cell therapy for Autism Spectrum Disorder FDA-approved?

No regenerative medicine therapy is FDA-approved to treat autism. A clinic registration, laboratory certificate, trial listing or claim that a product is autologous does not change product-level approval. Verify the exact product and use with the relevant regulator.

How stem cells are studied for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition with diverse communication, sensory, behavioural and support needs. Cell-based proposals usually invoke immune modulation or neural plasticity, but those mechanisms remain hypotheses and do not establish improvement in core autistic features. Placental, amniotic, cord-derived, stromal and exosome products are not interchangeable, and evidence for one preparation cannot validate another.
