Is stem cell therapy for Autism Spectrum Disorder worth it?
Outside a properly authorised study, current evidence does not justify presenting a paid cell intervention as effective autism care. Independent review should protect established support, define meaningful outcomes and make uncertainty, risks and total financial exposure explicit.
How stem cells are studied for Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition with diverse communication, sensory, behavioural and support needs. Cell-based proposals usually invoke immune modulation or neural plasticity, but those mechanisms remain hypotheses and do not establish improvement in core autistic features. Placental, amniotic, cord-derived, stromal and exosome products are not interchangeable, and evidence for one preparation cannot validate another.
