Question

How long does stem cell therapy for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome last?

There is insufficient controlled evidence to establish whether benefit occurs, when it peaks or how long it lasts. Repeat infusion schedules lack established cumulative safety and efficacy. Providers should not promise a response window, duration or maintenance interval for an unapproved product.

How stem cells are studied for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition that may follow injury or surgery and can involve sensory, autonomic, motor and trophic changes in a limb. Management is individualised and commonly includes rehabilitation, pain treatment and psychological support, with specialist interventions in selected cases. Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) and other cell approaches are experimental; proposed inflammatory or neural mechanisms have not established clinical benefit. The registry table on this page lists relevant studies and their current recruitment status.
