Question

What is the recovery time after stem cell therapy for Cerebral Palsy?

Immediate recovery depends on the route and any sedation or invasive procedure. Functional change, if studied, is assessed over the protocol period and should not be described as recovery from cerebral palsy. Continue individual rehabilitation and ordinary medical care.

What the evidence shows for Cerebral Palsy

Studies must separate the cell intervention from maturation, intensive rehabilitation, expectation and assessor bias. Results should be interpreted by product, dose, route, cerebral-palsy subtype, age, comparator and validated functional outcome, with complete adverse-event reporting. The FDA regenerative-medicine patient page does not identify an approved regenerative therapy for cerebral palsy; verify any proposed study with the regulator and a paediatric rehabilitation team.
